Obituary of David Thomas McDowell, Sr.

David Thomas “Dave” McDowell, Sr., 56, of Hopewell Twp. passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Inspira Medical Center-Bridgeton after a brief illness.

He was born in Bridgeton to the late Leon McDowell and Naoma Gressman McDowell. Dave had graduated from Cumberland Regional High School in 1979 and worked in the construction industry where he was known as a Jack-of-all-Trades.

In his free time, he enjoyed boating, fishing and riding his dirt bikes. Dave had a love for eating seafood and could always be found chopping wood in his back yard. Aside from his love for life itself, he loved to laugh and spend time with his family and friends.

He is survived by; two sons, Leon McDowell and David McDowell, Jr (Kyah); a daughter, Markie Schafer; a sister, Kathy Peterson (Greg) and three grandchildren, Dalila' and Kelso McDowell and Juliana Barbeck.

Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, July 6th at 12 Noon.
