When I moved to Bridgeton 5 years ago I was lax on mowing the lawn. I was listening to music inside the home I was renting. I heard the sound of a lawnmower that was too loud to be a neighbor cutting grass. I went outside and saw this old woman who could barely walk, knees knocking together cutting the tall grass in front of my house. It took alot of persuasion to get her to turn the mower off and let go of the handle. I later learned I was living in the home her sister Frances used to live in and she wanted the place to look nice. She became a good friend and I will miss seeing her sitting in her back patio and talking with her. She did finally quit cutting her grass a couple years ago. One tough lady who lived through the depression of the 30's. I will always remember Rose.
