Obituary of Michael W. Michalek, Sr.

Michael W. Michalek, Sr., 72, of Upper Deerfield Twp. died at his home on Thursday, March 9, 2017 under the care of Hospice after several years of failing health. Born in Camden to the late Walter J. Michalek and Loretta R. Boyle Michalek, he was the husband of Bobby L. Oatman Michalek. Michael had been a resident of Fairfield Twp. from 1994-2015 and had been living in Upper Deerfield Twp. until his passing. Michael had been employed by Bayside State Prison as a cooking instructor for 10 years. He had also operated his own bakery in Audubon and was a blacksmith by trade in southern NJ. In his free time, Michael enjoyed roller skating, riding motorcycles and reading. He is survived by; his wife, Bobbi L. Michalek of Upper Deerfield Twp.; four sons, Michael W. Michalek, Jr. of Rehobeth Beach, DE, John J. Michalek and his wife, Joyce of Rehobeth Beach, DE; Christopher Michalek of Rehobeth Beach, DE and Robert J. Wilson and his wife, Jennifer of Henderson, NV; two daughters, Kelly A. DeBrander and her husband, Leon of Bear, DE and Rebecca S. Sigars and her husband, Jospeh of Alloway; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by; three brothers, F. James Michalek, Patrick W. Michalek and John “Jack” Michalek. Funeral services will be held at that PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, March 11th at 5 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4 PM to 5 PM prior to the services.
