Obituary of Robert W. Cassidy

Robert W. Cassidy, 77, of Bridgeton died on Friday, March 3, 2017 at South Jersey Extended Care in Bridgeton following an extended illness. Born in Masontown, PA to the late John Cassidy and Clara O'Rourke Cassidy, he was the husband of the late Betty J. Johnson Cassidy. Robert had been a resident of the Bridgeton area since his late teenage years. Prior to his retirement, Robert had been employed by Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton and Durand Glass Co. in Millville. He was a lifetime member of the 5th Ward Athletic Club. In his free time, Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, canning pickles and hunting for edible mushrooms in the wild. He is survived by; three children, Debra A. Sprouse and her husband, Ron of Upper Deerfield Twp., Michael Cassidy and his wife, Annie of Nashua, NH and David Cassidy and his wife, Sherrie of Vineland; a brother, Paul Cassidy of PA; four sisters, Mary Donato of Cedarville, Theresa Cassidy of PA, Susan Cassidy of PA and Peggy Cassidy of PA; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; his wife, Betty J. Cassidy; five brothers, George, Joseph, Jack, Jerry and Patrick Cassidy and three sisters, Claire Caccamo, Regina Christovich and Kathy Cassidy. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, March 9th at 11 AM.
