Lorraine Mae Saunders, 84, of Palmdale, CA, formerly of Fairfield Twp. died unexpectedly on January 13, 2017 at her home. Lorraine was born in Fairton to the late Henry Durham and Geneva Walford Durham. She had lived in California for the past 60 years and prior to that she had resided in Fairfield Twp. Before her retirement, Lorraine had been the owner and operator of Call-In Chicken in Santa Monica, CA for about three years until selling the business. She had been previously employed as a model molder for Revel Models for 12 years. Lorraine was an avid bowler and she also enjoyed dancing. In her later years, she served as a minister to the sick and elderly at several nursing facilities and volunteered her time at several local food banks. She is survived by a son, Wayne Saunders of Maui, Hawaii; her daughter, Bonnie Cuniberti of Lancaster, CA; two sisters, Betty Christian of Fairton and Hazel Welden of Santa Monica, CA; a brother, Duke Durham of Fairton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Hollie Harry “Big Bud” Saunders, Sr.; twin sons, Johnny Earl Saunders and Kenneth Richard Saunders; her son, Hollie Harry “Little Bud” Saunders, Jr. and her siblings, Doris Sence and John Clem. A memorial service will be held at Heaven's Saints Worship Center, 221 Newport Rd., Cedarville on Saturday, February 18th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Old Stone Church Cemetery in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
