Obituary of Karen Ruth Welden

Karen R. Welden, 61, of Dividing Creek died on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at her home following an extended illness.
Karen was born in Bridgeton to the late Mark Dolson and Ruth Sprenkle. In 1978, she moved to Dividing Creek where she lived for the rest of her life.
Karen had been employed at the former Miller Berry and Sons Manufacturing Co. in Port Norris for over 10 years. In her free time she enjoyed playing with her dog Pearl, collecting frogs and watching the Philadelphia Eagles. She also loved to watch her favorite television show In the Heat of the Night. She had a tradition with her daughter, TeddiLyn, of going to the Maurice River Diner for Banana Cream Pie and Pot Pie.
Surviving are her children, Stephen C. Welden and his wife, Kelly of Millville and TeddiLyn R. Welden of Newfield; her beloved dog, Pearl; two sisters, Vicki Shaw of Kingsland, GA and Donna Chann-Erianne and her husband, Mike of Upper Deerfield Twp.; a brother, John Chann, Jr. of Newfield; her best friend, Mary Garrison of Dividing Creek; four grandchildren, Bria, Leah, Grayson and Axel and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Dolson and her step-father, John Chann, Sr.
A memorial gathering will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main Street, Cedarville on Tuesday, January 31st from 1 PM to 3 PM. There will be a celebration of life immediately following the memorial gathering at the Dividing Creek Fire Hall, 529 Church Street, Dividing Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions could be made for Karen's beloved dog, Pearl's care via her daughter, TeddiLyn.
