Obituary of Hazel M. Jives

Hazel M. Jives, 85, of Bridgeton, died on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Twp. Born in Accomack County, VA to the late Henry Holley and Eleanor Barker Holley, she was the wife of the late John Jives. Hazel had been a resident of Bridgeton for many years but had spent most of her working life in Easton, MD. Prior to her retirement, Hazel had worked as a home healthcare aid and an RN at various facilities in Easton, MD. She had attended First Baptist Church in Bridgeton. In her free time, Hazel enjoyed reading, listening to country and gospel music, reading her bible and doing wordfind puzzles. She was always known to say “I’m going to give you a knuckle sandwich”. She is survived by four children, Leslie Knight of Bridgeton, Peggy Hightower of Bridgeton, Frank Knight and his wife Lottie of Bridgeton and Alex Holley and his wife Leone of Bridgeton; three siblings, William Holley, Ellie Holly and George Holley all of Bridgeton and a host of grandchildren and other family members. Besides her husband, John, she was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Knight and a daughter, Gloria Willet. A memorial service will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, October 18th at 11 AM.
