Obituary of Edwin D. Boswell

Edwin D. Boswell, 78, of Hopewell Twp. died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland. Born in Bridgeton to the late Leslie M. Boswell and Susan Fooks Boswell, he was the husband of Winnie Mahaffey Boswell. He had been a resident of Hopewell Twp. for the past 55 years and before that he had lived in Bridgeton. Prior to his retirement, Edwin had been employed by the DuPont Corporation-Chambers Works for 34 years. A veteran, he served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a retired member of the former Hopewell Twp. Volunteer Fire Department where he served many positions including Assistant Chief. Edwin was also a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Upper Deerfield Twp. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling. I addition to his wife, Winnie, he is survived by a daughter, Tammy Rigoli of Cedarville; a brother, James Edward Boswell of Bridgeton; a sister, Alice Bedford of Bridgeton; three grandchildren, Joseph Rigoli, Julianna Rigoli and Allison Schmutz and a great-grandson, Gavin Moore. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Boswell-Smith and Juanita Griffith. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday evening, June 23rd from 6 PM to 8 PM. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family at Cumberland County Veteran’s Cemetery in Hopewell Twp.
