Tammye Denise Handy-Hardwick, 64, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Vitas Hospice House in Philadelphia, after her health began to decline on February 29th of 2024. Born in Bridgeton to the late James E. Handy and Arabell Florence Handy, she was the sixth child and baby girl out of her siblings. Prior to moving to Philadelphia in 2018 Tammye had resided in Port Norris, Dividing Creek, Buena and Vineland, where she attended elementary school. She also attended Cleary Junior High in Minotola and Vineland High School. She had been a member of the high school band, playing the clarinet, she then became drum major for the marching band. Tammy attended Tuskegee University and also took classes at Cumberland County College (Rowan College of South Jersey). Tammye held numerous jobs such as waitressing, cooking, and hosting throughout the years and most recently had been employed with People Ready, in Pennsauken, NJ. Tammye is survived by; five brothers, Dorie (Annie) Handy, Rashad Ameen Handy, Jonathan (Denice) Handy, Herbert (Yadira) Handy and Ryan Handy; two sisters, Wendy Felton and Mercedes Handy (Carl); and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by; her parents, James E. Handy and Arabell Handy; and her brother James Handy Jr. A visitation will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Hwy 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, April 6th from 10 AM to 11:30 AM.
