Carmen R. Harvey, age 100 was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 20, 1923 to the late Gregorio and Concepcion Harvey. She received her wings on March 10, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her daughter and family. Carmen received her education in San Juan, PR after graduating high school she married the love of her life Lionel Harvey Jr. on March 18, 1946 from that union they had 3 children Carmen, Lionel, and Felipe. She came to New Jersey in 1954 after her husband had come in 1953 to find work and residency. He then sent for his family where they moved to Bridgeton, NJ. Her first job here in the states was the Cumberland Hotel of Bridgeton, where she was a housekeeper. She had many jobs at various in factories, her last known job was at Wheaton Glass of Millville where she retired after 26 years. After retiring Carmen enjoyed working in her garden planting flowers with her daughter Carmen. She lived a fulfilled life by enjoying her family and friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apples of her eyes. She was known as the "Candy Lady" in her neighborhood, she was loved by everyone, she had such a loving heart. She enjoyed her daily Spanish Soap Operas and The Price is Right. Carmen leaves to cherish her memory: 1 Sister Josephine Ramos; 2 Children-Carmen Hall & Felipe Harvey of Bridgeton, NJ.; 16 Grandchildren-Anthony (Sonya) Hall, Felicita (Gregory) Batie, James (Pamela) Hall, Aelisha Bryan) Spencer, Gary Harvey, Lionel Powell, Michelle Sharp, Joseph Harvey, Natonya Sharp, Felicia Sharp, Ashley Harvey, Lionel Sharp, Lionel E. Sharp, Chris Burns, Robert Burns, Cineca Harvey; 48 Great Grandchildren, 68 Great Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Great Grandchildren; 1 God Daughter Janine Watty; 2 Special Friends Jeanette Watty & Rebecca Green. And a host of Family & Friends. In addition to her parents Carmen was predeceased by her Husband Lionel Harvey Jr.; Son Lionel Harvey III; 2 Sisters Paca Ramos & Felicita Ramos; 1 Brother Pagine Ramos; 2 Grandchildren Marvin Sharp and Felipe Harvey Jr.; Honorary Daughters Vastina Chestnut & Patricia Chestnut. Funeral services will be held at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 90 Rev. Matthew Brown Way, Bridgeton on Saturday, March 23rd at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Greenwood Memorial Park in Millville. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
