Obituary of David Govan

David Govan was called to rest on February 15, 2024, after a gradual decline in his health. While surrounded by family and loved ones, David transitioned peacefully. David was born to the late Clarence and Marion Govan. He was raised in Bridgeton, NJ where he attended and graduated high school. David worked as a truck driver for 37 years. He was employed by Nights Express LLC for most of his career. He spent his career traveling the world and enjoying one of his life's passions. David also taught his grandson Dimitri Reese how to become a truck driver and traveled with him for over a year which nurtured a long-lasting relationship. David retired in 2020 and stayed close to his family in Cumberland County. David's fun and energetic personality would light up a room and he was always the life of the party. He loved to dance and ride his motorcycle. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. David is survived by; six children, Brenda Forrest of Millville, Dawn Gross (Josiah) of Vineland, NJ, Valerie Gross of Alloway, NJ, David Govan of Kansas City, MO, Trunita Bogan of Millville, NJ and Devyn Berry (John) of Fairfield Township, NJ; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Marjorie Needly, Maricio Johnson, Delores Lee, Terry Govan Gilmore, Ronald Govan, Jack Govan (Lena), Joan Forman (Donald), Vivian Martin, Anthony Govan (Sharron), Sharon Govan, Caroline Channel (David), Elizabeth Govan; former wife, Audrey (Myra) Wise-Govan. Lovingly submitted by the family. A memorial service will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Hwy 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, February 24th, 2024 at 12 NOON.
