Obituary of John A. Rudderow

JOHN ALBERT RUDDEROW, 49, of Millville and formerly of Cedarville, died Friday, Nov. 10, at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was the son of Kathryn (Kay) Rudderow Myers of Ventnor, N.J., and the late Claude F. Rudderow. 
In addition his mother, John is survived by his companion, Gwen Aiken, with whom he resided; a sister, Donna (Les) Spickler of Pennsylvania; his nieces, Jennifer (Eric) Henderson and her sons, Gary, Jake and Evan, of Millville, and Rebekah Kaysen of Philadelphia; aunts, Sara (Nick) Rio of Upper Deerfield Township and Nora Stone of Carefree, Arizona; his stepfather, Charles E. Myers; and many cousins.
John was predeceased by his grandparents, Claude E. and Ruth Rudderow, of Cedarville, and Walter and Mary Rosypal of Bridgeton, and his uncle, Walter H. Rosypal of Virginia.
John was known as a kind and gentle person, with a quick wit and was loved by all who knew or met him. Following in his father's footprints to aid in the service of others, John was a member of the Cedarville Volunteer Fire Department, and a licensed EMT. He was a 1986 graduate of Bridgeton High School and was attending Cumberland County College in pursuit of a degree in computer engineering prior to his illness. He had been employed by several area businesses, including a linen supply company and a farming conglomerate. He enjoyed traveling, metal detecting, and nature.
Graveside services are planned for Nov. 17 in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 197 Main St, Cedarville at 1 PM. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m Dec. 9 at Margate Community Church, 8900 N Ventnor Ave, Margate City, NJ, where John was a member and had sung in the choir. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome to the American Diabetes Association, or the charity of one's choice.
