Lela Presnell Brown
December 25, 1934 – March 15, 2025

Lela Presnell Brown, 90, of Cedarville, NJ, passed peacefully on to her heavenly home on March 15, 2025. She was born in Long Branch, NC and was the daughter to the late Ernest Taft Presnell and Ethel Forester Presnell and the wife of the late Frank D. Brown.
Lela was a retired school teacher of many beloved students from Pennsgrove, Kingsway, Pennsville Christian Academy and Salem High School in New Jersey. She was an avid gardener, loved doing yard work and she enjoyed playing the piano, organ and accordion. She also loved to sing and was a member of church choirs at the Sharptown United Methodist Church in NJ and the United Methodist Church in Newport, TN where she lived when she retired. One of her favorite activities was doing puzzles with her beloved sister Betty Presnell and brother Rannel Presnell.
She is survived by; her children, Jon Stanley Brown of New Castle, DE, Susan Katrina Brown of Cedarville, NJ and Jason Stacey Brown of Afton, TN; sister, Betty Presnell of Clyde, NC; brother, Rannel Presnell (Loretta) of Citronelle, AL; brother in-law, Charles Haynes of Waynesville, NC. She was blessed with seven grandchildren; Katrina Ecret, Samuel Ecret, Kristen Brown, Jerrilynn, Katey, Winston and Devon Brown; seven great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Ecret, Charlotte Ecret, Wyatt Ecret, Sydney Ecret, Eliana Broughton, Gianna Broughton and Leon Lawing; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; husband, Frank David Brown; son, Stephen Keith Brown; sisters, Ruby Haynes and Mrytle Presnell; brothers, Hugh Presnell and Ernest Taft Presnell, Jr.
Funeral services will be private and carried out just as she wished. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Salvation Army, 290 Pigeon St. Waynesville, NC 28786. Written condolences can be sent to the family through the funeral home website www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
As she would instruct us, may we move on with grace and strength and “Go with the flow”.
