Obituary of Neya M. Piti

Neya M. Piti, 78, of Egg Harbor Twp. passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025 at ExcelCare in Egg Harbor Twp. Born in Chiriqui, Panama to the late Victor Piti and Gabriela Ortega, she had been a citizen of the United States since the age of 10. She had been a South Jersey resident since 1968, after residing in North Carolina and New York. Prior to retirement, she had been employed with the Vineland Developmental Center for 17 years. In her free time, she enjoyed Spanish novelas, caring for her many plants, puzzles, movies, telling stories, and spending time with her family, friends and the staff at ExcelCare. She also enjoyed crocheting and would make blankets for hospital newborns. She also grew out her hair to donate to cancer charities. Neya made many meaningful connections with the staff and residents at ExcelCare, which were like a second family to her. She spent time advocating for other residents as she cared deeply for the welfare of others. She will be remembered for being a spitfire who spoke her mind, but mostly for her big heart and love for others. She is survived by; her daughter, Sandra Figueroa of Millville; two sons, David E. Figueroa (Elizabeth) of Kenersville, NC and Ulyssess Figueroa (Nicole) of Egg Harbor Twp.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Gabriela; and two brothers, William Ortega and James Ortega. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 22ndat 3:30 PM at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp.
