Charles W. Gregg, Sr., 84, of Deerfield Twp., passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. He was born to the late Forrest Gregg and Beatrice Buckner in Bridgeton and had been a resident of both Salem and Cumberland County and he was the husband to Frances Mutter Gregg. He attended the Bridgeton Public School System and had been a graduate the Bridgeton High School class of 1958. He worked as a copyist until his retirement and also worked for Wawa as a fuel attendant for about five years after retirement in Upper Deerfield. Charles loved to golf, gardening with his wife, going deer hunting, and bird watching. He was passionate about food and loved to cook Sunday breakfast for his family and peanut butter pies for dessert. He also loved to go out to eat at different restaurants. He traveled to a lot of Pow Wows and was also a craft vendor. Charles liked traveling to West Virgina and making his almost daily trips to Wawa for his coffee and newspaper. He was a Star Wars fan, love his Green Bay Packers and the Yankees. Charles also enjoyed sitting at home watching TV, whether it was western movies or game shows like Match Game, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Charles contributed to his community and made a big impact to helping the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribe. He is survived by; wife, Frances Gregg; children, Tracy Sobelman (David) of Oregon, Becky Gregg of Vineland, Monica Sutton Gregg of Fairton and Jonathan Penn, Sr. (Lisa); grandchildren, Jessica Sigrist (Kurt), Stephanie Lord (Chris), Tyrone Ellis, Jr., (Lia Gould-Ellis), Ezekiel Evans, Jr., Alexis Sharapoff (Ben) and Jonathan Penn, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Braiden Gould, Mathyias Ellis, Li'Ana Ellis and Kai'Lyn Ellis; and siblings, Carroll Gregg, Faith Gregg and Lois Carpenter (Larry). He was preceded in death by; parents, Forresst and Beatrice Gregg; son, Charles W. Gregg, Jr.; daughter, Lisa Pierce; and ex-wives, Lorraine Johnson Gregg and Nancy Gregg. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10th at 12 NOON at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 NOON prior to the service. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park, 794 Shiloh Pike following the service.
