Obituary of Edward W. Schmidt Jr.

Edward Schmidt Jr., 82, of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded in love. Edward was a gentle and kind man born the eldest of 12 children to loving parents Edward and Catherine Schmidt in Wilmington DE. To anyone who met Edward they saw his radiant smile and his joy for life. Edward had a joy for fishing his whole life and he could always share a fishing story. He looked forward to his annual fishing trip and meeting up with his brothers for a week fishing, laughing and talking about younger days. He leaves behind his partner and best friend of 30 years, Cindy Karkocha and her family members. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard, Robert, Ronald, Gerald; his sisters Carol, Deborah, Marsha and Charlotte; and his daughters Stacy and Sharon. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, numerous special friends, and Derrick and Dannica who will miss him greatly and remember him with love. Edward was preceded by his parents Edward and Catherine Schmidt; his brothers, John and Thomas; his sister Barbara; and his son Jeffrey Edward Schmidt. At the request of Edward there will be no viewing or services. In memory of Edward, take a child, family member or a friend fishing and build memories to last a lifetime.
