It is with great sadness to announce the passing of David T. Capps Jr after a lengthy illness. David was born in Bridgeton, NJ on August 14th, 1956, to Mamie (nee Mullins) and David T. Capps Sr. He was a lifelong resident of the Greater Bridgeton area, having moved to Hopewell Township in 1999. Before his retirement in 2017, David worked as a forklift operator at Progresso in Vineland, NJ for seventeen years. He was known to have a strong work ethic and an ornery smirk. David is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Dale, his only child, his daughter Kelly (Erik), his mother Mamie, sisters Shirley and Patricia (Bob), and two brothers Danny (Christine) and Timmy, as well as his childhood best friend Bill Lacy. He will be remembered as an animal lover, having rescued dogs, horses, cats, and goats. He was also an avid gardener. David enjoyed his jersey tomatoes, summertime crabs, and a miller lite beer on occasion. David was a muscle car enthusiast. His prodigy was his 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback. He was also a movie connoisseur; old westerns were especially his favorite. Friends and family are invited to celebrate David’s life on Tuesday, March 7th at Padgett Funeral Home in Upper Deerfield and services will be administered by Charles Fithian. The viewing will begin at 6 and services will be followed at 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude’s children’s hospital or the A.S.P.C.A is welcomed.
