Chester L. “The Cookie Man” Munyon, 92, of North Cape May passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at his home under the care of his family and hospice. Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Joel Munyon and Bertha Moore Munyon. He had lived in North Cape May for the past ten years and prior to that resided in Dividing Creek. Before his retirement, Chester had been employed with the former Shieldalloy Company in Newfield for many years. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving his country during the Korean Conflict. An avid fisherman, he deeply loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his four daughters, Joanne J. Chicker (Tim) of CT, Laurie J. Baglio (Rick Kern) of Eldora, Beth S. Gamble (Martin Formento) of DE and Lisa C. Worrell (John Parsons) of Mays Landing; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; his friend and caregiver, Janice Leininger and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Eleanor Craner and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8th at 11:00 AM at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Township.
