Florence E. Mummert, 92 of Bridgeton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. She was born in Williamsburg, PA on August 24, 1928 to the late Martin Mummert and Lois Shore Mummert. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, George E. Mummert. Florence came to Bridgeton to live with Bertha and Amos Martin and their four children as a boarder in 1954 and was still living with Bertha at the time of her death as her friend and caregiver. She was recruited to come to work at the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton in 1953 where she worked on C-Shift in Selecting until its closing in 1984. She is survived by her dear friend, Bertha Martin and her four children, Bob Martin (Janette), Joan Garrison (Ken, deceased), Peggy Anderson (Tiny), Pat Cossaboon (Nard), who were like her own children to her along with their children who were like grandchildren to her. She also had four nieces residing in PA; Dawn Mummert, Sharon Mummert-Wagner, Georgette Mummert and Amanda Lynam. Memorial services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77 Upper Deerfield Township on Wednesday, March 24th at 11:30 AM. A visitation will take place from 11:00 to 11:30 AM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Florence’s memory be made to a charity of one’s choice.
