Clara “Kay” Tarantella, aged 82, of Woodbury died November 13, 2015 at Inspira Medical Center, Woodbury. Born in Palmyra, Nebraska, the daughter of the Late Fern Root Freeman Sharrard, and Ben Freeman, she was raised in Verga, NJ and was a graduate of Paulsboro High School. She was a resident of Gibbstown for 30 years and also lived in Fairton and Woodbury. For many years Kay designed and crafted Baton costumes and enjoyed work as a seamstress. She also enjoyed painting, her family and friends. Predeceased by her husband Armand “Turk” Tarantella, survivors include a daughter Kathleen Tarantella-Hay and her husband Donald of Daretown, a son Michael Tarantella and his wife Colleen of Wenonah; Beloved sister, Donna Scheetz of Mantua, and siblings Tom Freeman of Ferrell, Helen Wright (Rusty) of Elmer, Elaine Thibault of Franklinville, Laura Di Sasrio (Dana) of Franklinville, Bill Freeman (Robin) of Williamstown, Jim Freeman of Newfield, Joan Michelson (Clark) of Glassboro, Nancy Freeman of Franklinville, Dan Freeman of Aura and a Sister in Law Connie Jones of Woodstown. In Lieu of Flowers the family asks that donations be made to SPCA of Gloucester County and the Wounded Warrior Projects. A Memorial Service to celebrate Kay’s life will be held at Nicolosi Caterers of Woodbury on November 28th from 1pm to 4pm. Her interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
