Obituary of Edgar Melvin Wolbert

Edgar “Melvin” Wolbert, 85, of Upper Deerfield Township died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Edgar Wolbert and Dorothy Ireland Wolbert and the husband of the late Vivian Smith Wolbert. He had been a Bridgeton area resident most of his life and had lived in Fairton as a child. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed with the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton for over 35 years. After his retirement from Owens he had worked with the Cumberland County Road Department for 4 years. Mr. Wolbert served his country in the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of V.F.W. Meade-Woodward Post 1795, the Fifth Ward Athletic Club, Order of Eagles Bridgeton Airy and Shoemaker Post 95 all of Bridgeton and the Deerfield Elks Lodge. He is survived by two daughters, Robin Orange of Fairfield Twp. and Tambi Michniewicz of Upper Deerfield Twp.; three sons, Steven Wolbert of Deerfield Twp., Howard Wolbert of Bridgeton and Edgar “Rusty” Wolbert of Hopewell Twp.; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Limmerman of Millville and Suzanne Veschi of Fairton and a brother, John Wolbert of Fairton. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Wolbert. Graveside funeral services will be held at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton on Monday, November 16th at 2 PM.
