Obituary of Julia A. Pharo

Julia A. "Judy" Pharo, age 67, of Newport died unexpectedly on Friday, February 17, 2012 at the South Jersey Regional Medical Center. The wife of Lawrence J. Pharo, she was born in Bridgeton on February 4, 1945 to the late Willard Y. Burnight and Julia Peterson Burnight and was a lifetime Newport resident. Before her retirement, she had been employed as a Rural Mail Carrier with the Newport Post Office for 37 years. Judy was active in the programs at the Downe Township Senior Center and was a member of the Downe Quilters Group and the Quilting Angels. She had assisted as a member of the former Newport Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and currently with the Downe Township Fire Company. In addition to her husband Larry, she is survived by a daughter, Kathy Loper and her husband Jay of Millville; a son, Lawrence J. Pharo, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Newport; a sister in law Kathleen Bryan and her husband Joel of Evans, GA and six grandchildren including Delaney Sheppard, Bethany Pharo and Harleeann Pharo who were the center of her life. Judy was predeceased by two brothers, David Burnight and Willard Y. Burnight, Jr. Memorial services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main Street, Cedarville on Wednesday, February 22nd at 11 AM. Cremation and inurnment took place at Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Township. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Judy's memory be made to the Downe Township Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 40, Fortescue, NJ 08321.
