Obituary of Richard Edward Stanley Diamond

Richard Edward Stanley Diamond, 70, of Lower Alloways Creek died on Saturday, August 22, 2015 under the care of Seasons Hospice in Newark, DE. Born in Wilmington, DE to the late Edward S. Diamond and Ethel Comerford Diamond, he was the husband of Gennie Riddle Diamond. Richard had been a resident of Lower Alloways Creek for 10 years and prior to that he had lived in Salem and Delaware. He had been employed by E.I. DuPont Corp in Edgemore, DE and prior to that had worked for Amtrak in DE as a signalman on the Metro Line. Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He had also served as the Senior Vice Commander of the V.F.W. Post 1952 in Pennsville. Besides his wife Gennie, he is survived by his two children, Jennie Lynn Diamond of Salem and Damien Diamond of Lower Alloways Creek and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Sean Diamond; a sister, Dolorez V.L. Murray-Ingraham and a brother, Henri (Bud) Diamond. Funeral services will be held on Friday evening, August 28th at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. at 7 PM.
