Sherdon B. Smith, 62, of Millville died Monday evening, July 27, 2014 at her home. She was born in Bivalve to the late Willie F. Smith and Dorothy Tanner Smith. Sherdon had lived in Millville for the past 30 years and prior to that she had resided in Bridgeton and Port Norris. She had been previously been employed with the former Value City and Wilmington Dry Goods stores in Vineland and had also worked for the Sands Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Cedarville. Surviving are her five children, Gregory Smith of Vineland, John Paul Slater of Vineland, Jason M. Slater of Millville, Tamika Smith-Henry of Bridgeton and Joshua W. Slater of Millville; 10 brothers and sisters, Peggy Jones of Glassboro, Robert Smith of Cedarville, Patricia Rodriguez of Millville, Maryann Smith of Glassboro, Zachariah Smith of Vineland, Darlene Bryant of Newfield, Tamar Todd of Vineland, Ronnie Smith of Clayton, Dorothy Sease of Vineland and Lenora Smith of Vineland; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church, 47 Schaffer Ave., Cedarville on Monday, August 3rd at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Greenwood Memorial Park in Millville. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
