Obituary of Ord V. Winrow

Ord Victor Winrow, 80, of Salem, formerly of Bridgeton, departed this life peacefully and as a born again Christian went home to be with the Lord on May 18th, 2015. He was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey to the late Howard E. and Oleta (Green) Winrow. Ord was educated in the Bridgeton Public School System. He was a sports enthusiast and played basketball in both city and church leagues. After many years of service, Ord retired from the Salem, New Jersey Department of Education. Ord leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted companion of 40 years, Pauline Mitchell and sons Eric and Lydell; one brother, Granville “Mike” Winrow of Bridgeton, NJ; one sister, Vail Bailey(Glenn) of St. Petersburg, FL; a sister-n-law, Odell Winrow; two brothers-n-law, George Newton of Salem, NJ and Herbert Gould of Atlantic City, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Doris Brown, Selma Seabrook, Miriam Gould and Beverly Newton; brothers: Howard and Isaac Winrow. Private graveside services will be held at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton at the convenience of the family.
