James W. Thompson, 81, of Millville died on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Inspira Medical Center Vineland. Born in Chunky, Mississippi to the late Lot Thompson and Margaret Ellis Thompson, he was the husband of Grace Teabout Thompson. James had been a resident of Millville since 2014 and prior to that he had lived in Vineland. James had retired from Warren Lumber Company in Vineland. After his retirement, he started his own tree service. He had also worked as a porter in New York City. He was a member of Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton. Besides his wife, Grace, James is survived by; his daughter, Gwendolyn Glenn and her husband Willie of Millville; a sister, Winnie Faye Thompson of Vineland; two brothers, John L. Thompson and Lot “Sunset” Thompson of Vineland; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; three sisters, Shirley Burns, Annie Carol-Thompson and Correna Allman and six brothers, Edward Thompson, Clois Thompson, Louis Thompson, Leroy Thompson, Bill Thompson and Roulvelman Thompson. Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Temple, 30 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Bridgeton on Friday, May 22nd at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp.
