Alice S. Brown, 77, of Fairfield Twp. died on Tuesday evening, May 12, 2015 at her home. Born in Fairfield Twp. to the late John E. Miller and Lillian Watson Miller, she was the wife of Daniel S. Brown. She had been a Fairfield Twp. resident since 1976 and prior to that had resided in Frederick, MD. Before her retirement, Alice had worked as a secretary at the Vineland Developmental Center for 25 years. She had also worked as a municipal court transcriptionist in Cumberland County for over 15 years. Alice had served as a church organist at several area churches including; The Seventh Day Adventist Church of Bridgeton, St. John’s Lutheran Church of Bridgeton, Berean Baptist Church of Bridgeton, Cedarville United Methodist Church, Central United Methodist Church of Bridgeton and Cedarville Presbyterian Church. Alice was a member of the American Guild of Organists. Besides her husband Daniel, she is survived by a daughter, Rie Hackney of Egg Harbor City; a brother, John E. Miller, III of Cedarville and two sisters, Ella Jane Miller of Cedarville and Elizabeth Steever of Millville. She was preceded in death by; her first husband, Norman Franklin and two brothers, Frank and Tom Miller. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19th from 6 PM to 7 PM at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main Street, Cedarville.
