Joseph D. Jones, 63, of Bridgeton died on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Genesis-Court House Center in Cape May Court House. Born in Bivalve, he was the son of the late Otho W. Jones, Sr. and Cora B. Teagle Jones. Joseph had lived in Bridgeton for the past five years and prior to that he had resided in Millville and Woodbine. Prior to his retirement, Joseph had worked as an Oysterman and Fisherman for several commercial fishing companies in the area. He is survived by; his mother, Cora Jones of Millville; a son, Renardo and six siblings, Otho Williams, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Bridgeton, Veronica Portia Jones of Millville, Wanda D. Jones, Virgie Jones, Cornelius Jones, Sr. and his wife Gloria of Millville and Valerie Jones Johnson of Millville. Funeral services will be held at John Wesley United Methodist Church, Ogden Ave. Port Norris on Thursday, February 26th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
