Lelia “Pearl” Orange, 81, of Bridgeton died on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at South Jersey Extended Care in Bridgeton. Born in Bedford County, VA to the late William A. Parker and Lala Carter Parker, she was the wife of Leslie D. Orange. Pearl had been a Bridgeton area resident since the mid 1950’s. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as an aide at the Hopewell Crest School in Hopewell Twp. She raised two wonderful children and had been a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Hopewell Twp. Her hobbies included singing, flower gardening and working in the yard. She also enjoyed the Bridgeton invitational Baseball Tournament, reading the Bible and listening to WSNJ. Besides her husband Leslie, she is survived by a daughter, Terry Orange of Hopewell Twp.; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Orange of Hopewell Twp.; a grandson, Christopher M. Orange of Hopewell Twp.; a great-granddaughter, Christina Marie Orange; two brothers, two sisters, and nieces and nephews in VA and FL. She was preceded in death by a son, Vernon M. Orange. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, December 18th at 7:30 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Pearl’s memory to Caring Hospice Services, 102 Gaither Dr., Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
