Barbara E. Derr, 83, of Fortescue died on Monday, December 8, 2014 at her home under the care of Hospice. Born in Philadelphia to the late William and Barbara Ashcroft, she was the wife of the late William D. Derr. She had resided at her present address in Fortescue for the past 17 years and prior to that she had lived in Philadelphia. Barbara had been a Homemaker. She is survived by; two children, Joseph Derr and his wife Rolene of Fortescue and Barbara Ann Saxton and her husband Stephen of Philadelphia; 5 grandchildren, William M. Derr, Mary Ellen Bowers, Robert W. Saxton, Stephanie M. Saxton, Barbara R. Saxton and two great-grandchildren, Robert T. Saxton and Stephen Matthew Stokes. Besides her husband, William D. Derr, she was preceded in death by a son; William Derr. Memorial services will be held on Friday evening, December 12th at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main Street, Cedarville at 8 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7 PM to 8 PM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Barbara’s memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
