Obituary of Anna S. Hunt

Anna S. Hunt, 79, of Hopewell Twp., died on Sunday October 26, 2014 at Juniper Village in Williamstown. Born in Gambrills, MD to the late John W. Shakelton and Ruth Lister Shakelton, she was the wife of Jonah F. Hunt. Anna had lived in Hopewell for the past 35 years and before that she had resided in Fairfield Twp. Prior to her retirement, she had been a switchboard operator and supervisor at Newcomb Hospital in Vineland for over 20 years. She had also been formerly employed at Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton. Anna was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Bridgeton and the Order of the Eastern Star. She also delivered for the Meals on Wheels Program in Cumberland County. In addition to her husband Jonah, she is survived by a son, Fred Allen Hunt of Dade City, FL.; a daughter, Gwendolyn Joan Dahl of Barrington; a brother, Charles Shakelton of Pennsville; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Cohen; her son, Russell Shakelton; a brother, John W. Shakelton, Jr. and two sisters, Jean S. Shafer and Martha H. Shakelton. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday November 3rd at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
