Jean G. Kirby, 89, of Hopewell Twp. died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 at Friends Village in Woodstown. A Hopewell Twp. resident for the past 64 years, she was born in Bridgeton and was the daughter of the late Leroy Getsinger and Ida Loper Getsinger and was the wife of Louis Kirby. She was predeceased by her first husband Howard B. Rule. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Kirby had been employed at the Centerton Golf Club for several years, Wilwynn Animal Hospital and had owned and operated the North Pearl Street Luncheonette. She attended West Park United Methodist Church and loved to dance. She and her husband Lou had been dance instructors at the former Rudy Carnegie Dance Studio in Bridgeton. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Cheryl R. Mather (Ken) of Tampa, FL and Patti Ann Laning (Everett “Buddy”) of Lawrence Twp.; a brother, Donald Getsinger of Mt. Royal; an aunt, Mary Loper, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, Oct. 30th at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp.
