Gertrude Betterson, 91, of Vineland died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Golden Nursing and Rehabilitation in Salem. The daughter of the late Delia Nails she was born in Reidsville, GA and was the wife of the late Roy Betterson. She had lived in Vineland for the past 30 years and was a resident of Philadelphia prior to that. She attended the Overcoming Victory Church in Bridgeton and before her retirement had been employed with the Penhurst State Hospital in Valley Forge, PA. Surviving are her four children, Mildred DuPree and Mary Betterson both of Philadelphia and Larry Betterson and Trenita Betterson both of Fairfield Township, 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchldren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Connie Questell of Bronx, NY. She was predeceased by two daughters, Christine Nails and Bernice Lopez, a sister, Margaurite Bennett, a brother, Sonny Nails and 6 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Overcoming Victory Church, 111 North Laurel Street, Bridgeton on Wednesday, October 1st at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the church from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
