Annie R. Burrus, 64, of Bridgeton died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at her home. Born in Bell Haven, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas W. Burrus and Edith Palmer Burrus. Annie had lived in Bridgeton for the past 10 years and prior to that she had resided in Fort Lee. Before to her retirement, she had been employed as an analyst with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Greater New York for 20 years. She is survived by her son, Efrem Burrus of Sicklervile; her husband, Rolmus Burrus of Lawrenceville; a granddaughter, Janiyah Burrus of Sicklerville; five sisters, Mary E. Burrus, Hattie L. Hopkins, Vida E. Bonner, Edith Cox and Angela Jeannette; a special friend, Jennifer Wright of Sicklerville and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Tommy Burrus, Bill Burrus and Glen Burrus and a sister, Sadie J. Burrus. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, September 9th at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 1 PM prior to the services.
