Obituary of David J. Burke

David J. Burke, 61, of Upper Deerfield Twp. died unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, August 6, 2014 at his home. David was born in Paterson to Ruth Russell Burke of Vineland and the late William H. Burke. He had been an Upper Deerfield Township and Pittsgrove resident for many years and prior to that had resided in Paterson where he was raised. Before his retirement, he had been employed with Public Service Electric and Gas at the Bergen Generating Station until 1972 when he transferred to the Salem Generating Station. He was a member of the Italian America Political Club in Bridgeton, where he assisted as a cook. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Kevin T. Burke and his wife Leslie of Upper Deerfield Twp. and Heather S. Cooper and her husband Peter of Millville; three sisters Deborah Anne Rizzo of Vineland, Dianne B. Mace of Springfield, VA and Dorothy R. Burke of Vineland; a brother, Dennis Burke of Chesapeake, VA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, August 11th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Olivet Cemetery in Pittsgrove Twp.
