Alice M. Guyer, age 56, of Newport died Thursday, January 31, 2013 at her home under the care of hospice and her family. She had been in declining health for the past eight months. Alice was born in Bridgeton on October 28, 1956 and was the daughter of the late Leroy Stevens and Della Helsel Stevens. The wife of Robert B. Guyer, she had been a Newport resident since 1993 and had grown up and resided in Fairfield Township prior to that. She had been employed with Leone Industries in Bridgeton for 23 years and more recently at the Waterfront Caf in Newport for five years. Alice was an avid Philadelphia Eagles Fan and Motorcyclist and in the years past was involved in 4-H with the Equestrian Clubs because of her love for horses. In addition to her husband Bob, she is survived by her daughter, Ashley N. Guyer of Newport; a sister, Donna Lewis of Illinois, nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Leroy "Chick" Stevens, Jr. Memorial services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Wednesday evening, February 6th at 7 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Alice's memory be made to SJ Healthcare Hospice Care, P.O. Box 160, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
