Obituary of Thomas L. Brown, Sr.

Thomas L. Brown, Sr., 68, of Bridgeton died on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland following an extended illness.

Born in Americus, GA to the late Homer Brown and Fannie Burns Brown, he was the husband of Classia Tellis Brown. In his early childhood, Thomas moved to Cedarville and then moved to Norma after he got married. In the mid 1970's, he moved to Bridgeton where he was a resident for the rest of his life.

Prior to his retirement, Thomas had worked at B&B Poultry in Norma for about eight years. He had also been employed by the former Jersey Tyler Iron Foundry for about five years, Sheppard Farms in for a few years and on a clam boat for Rigg and Robinson's for a few years. Thomas was a member of Bethlehem Revival Temple in Bridgeton. In his free time, Thomas enjoyed buying and fixing up cars and watching boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and western movies. He was also known to love going out to eat.

He is survived by; his wife, Classia Brown of Bridgeton; his son, Thomas Brown, Jr. of Bridgeton; his daughter, Deborah Brown of Bridgeton; two grandsons, Tayjoun Brown and Rah'meir Herring; eight sisters, Alice Lovett of Seabrook, Mattie Bryant of Seabrook, Susan Hart of Carl's Corner, Sine Coleman of Millville, Frankie Brown of Bridgeton, Lois Ann Brown of Millville, Patricia Brown of Bridgeton and Maryann Brown of Gloucester County; two brothers, Homer Brown Jr. of Bridgeton and Henry James Brown of Winslow Twp. and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other family members. He was preceded in death by; two sisters, Jennie Matthews and Frances Brown and three brothers, John Lee Brown, Homer Brown and Eugene Brown.

Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Revival Temple, 37 South Ave., Bridgeton on Monday, March 12th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp.
