June Ikeda Mick, 71, of Deerfield Township passed away peacefully Monday morning, February 5th in the comfort of the family home. She had been under the care of hospice since late December.

June was born in Seabrook, NJ to Albert and May (nee Kubota) Ikeda. Originally from Salinas, CA the family relocated to Seabrook upon release from the incarceration camp in Poston, AZ. She graduated from Bridgeton High School, Class of 1964 and worked as a seamstress for a number of years, including Mark Mfg and Seibel & Stern. She was known for her custom tailor work along with creating elaborate costumes for her grandchildren. June loved to dance, enjoyed bowling and going to the casino. She was a member of the Seabrook Minyo (Japanese folk) Dance Club. Her favorite pastime was to travel with her husband to watch her grandchildren play baseball.

June is survived by her children, David Mick and his wife Ginger of Upper Deerfield, Stefanie Pierce of Deerfield, and Brandon Mick of Bridgeton; grandchildren Gage and Bryce Mick, Danielle and Evan Pierce, Tallon and Kylie Mick; brothers Albert “Bunji” Ikeda and his wife Eiko of Audubon, PA and Norman “Fumio” Ikeda and his wife Edna of Las Vegas, NV. She was predeceased by her husband Howard Gary Mick, grandson Cruise “Mookie” Mick, sister Laye Nagahiro and her husband Richard, and brother Gary Ikeda.
