Obituary of Thelma Jenkins

            Thelma Jenkins, 85, of Fairfield Twp. died on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Eagleview Nursing Center in Pittsgrove Twp.

            Born in Adel, GA to the late Willie Roberts and  Annie Brown Roberts, she was the wife of the late Wallace Jenkins, Sr. Thelma had lived in Fairfield Twp. since 1970 and prior to that she had resided in Bridgeton.

            She had been previously employed at the DeSantis Dress Co., Major Clothing Co. and Val Mode Lingerie Co. before her retirement. Thelma was a member of Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton.

            She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Comer-Solomon and her husband, Al of Fairfield Twp.; a son, Michael Jenkins and his wife, Kimberlin of Wilmington, DE; a niece whom she raised, Pastor Darlene Bryant and her husband, Jeffery of Vineland; three sisters, Marjorie Robinson and her husband, John of Millville, Eva Lou Jenkins of Bronx, NY and Phyllis Watson of NC; two brothers, Eugene Roberts and his wife, Odessa of Elmwood and James Roberts and his wife, Vanessa of Glassboro and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Wallace Jenkins, Jr.; a brother, Benny Roberts and her son-in-law, Vernell L. Comer, Sr.

            Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Temple, 29 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Bridgeton on Monday, October 30th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
