Obituary of Darlene Overs

Darlene Overs, 66, of Bridgeton passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at her home under the care of hospice following an extended illness.

Darlene was born in Bridgeton to the late William Overs, Jr. and Dorothy Craner Overs. She had lived in Commercial Twp. briefly but had been a Bridgeton resident most of her life.

Prior to her retirement, Darlene had worked as a nurses assistant for Bayada Healthcare for several years. She had also worked at Rock-Tenn Co. and Deerfield Machine Parts. In her free time, she was known to take care of other people in need, volunteering, participating in church activities, and spending time with her nieces. Darlene was also a volunteer of My Sisters Kids, a charity focusing on providing peer support for grieving children. She would also often volunteer at the Eagleview Center in Pittsgrove in a music ministry. Darlene attended Crossings- A Wesleyan Church in Deerfield Twp.

She is survived by; five siblings, William E. Overs, III and his wife, Jeanette of Justin, TX, David Overs of Vonore, TN, Dorothy Snyder and her husband, Richard of Deerfield Twp., Debra Allred and her husband, Jim of Englewood, TN and Michael Overs and his wife, Sheila of Vineland and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Darlene was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Wilson and Marianne Overs.

Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park, 1001 East Broad Street, Millville on Monday, August 28th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Darlene's memory to My Sister Kids Inc (a charity at which she volunteered), P.O. Box 1215, Millville, NJ 08332.
