Obituary of Elmarie M. Thomas

            Elmarie M. Thomas, 64, of Swainsboro, GA and formerly of Bridgeton passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at University Hospital in Augusta, GA. 

            The daughter of Zettie Rozier Griffin of Bridgeton and the late Willie T. Palmer she was born in Bridgeton and was the wife of Edgar Thomas, Jr.   She had lived in Georgia since 1983 and prior to that was a resident of Bridgeton. 

            Before her retirement, she had been employed as a Registered Nurse at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro, GA. 

            She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Swainsboro and Greater St. Augustine AME Zion Church in Bridgeton. 

            In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by four children, Tammy D. Maddox Anderson of GA, Timothy D. Maddox of GA, Natasha D. McKie of GA and Edgar Thomas, III of GA; three step-children, Wayne Norman of NJ, Steven Jones of Trenton and DeShoyn Clark of NC; 13 sisters, 5 brothers, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by one brother. 

            Funeral services will be held at the Greater St. Augustine AME Zion Church, 410 North Pearl Street, Bridgeton on Monday, July 24th at 11 AM.  Friends will be received at the church form 9 to 11 AM prior to the services.  Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp.  Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.  Written condolences can be sent to the family at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
