Obituary of James N. Newman

            James N. Newman, Jr., 91, of Upper Deerfield Township died Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland.

            An Upper Deerfield Township resident most of his life, he was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late James N. Newman, Sr. and Helen Dixon Newman and was the husband of Georgia Gardner Newman.  Before his retirement he had been employed with Brunt International in Mt. Holly and had also previously worked at Farm Rite, Russo Farms, Hopewell Nursery and Seabrook Farms for many years until its closing. 

            Jim enjoyed fishing, raccoon hunting, boxing, baseball, horse racing and football especially the Philadelphia Eagles.  He also enjoyed working in his garden and deeply loved his wife Georgia and his family.  He was respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. 

            In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four daughters, Inez Newman of Fairfield Twp., Tina Rennie (Earl) of Upper Deerfield Twp., Karla Grant (Devon) of Philadelphia, Gina Burrus of Upper Deerfield Twp. and his son, Lawrence Newman        (Karen) of Upper Deerfield Twp.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Teresa Newman and three sisters, Laura, Tina and Dorothy Newman.

            Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, July 20th at 10 AM.  Friends will be received from 9 to 10 AM prior to the services.  Written condolences can be sent to the family at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
