Obituary of Velvet S. Pierce

Velvet S. Pierce, 52, of Bridgeton died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

She was born in Bridgeton to the late Donald O. Pierce, Sr. and Beverly Ann Forman Pierce. Velvet had moved to Philadelphia in 1997 where she lived for 15 years until moving back to Bridgeton.

Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Walmart in Philadelphia for about eight years. Prior to that, Velvet had been employed by Cheney College in Philadelphia. In her free time, she enjoyed cleaning, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and watching Lifetime on television.

She is survived by; two sons, James Smith of Camden and Jack Pierce of Bridgeton; two daughters, Velvet T. Pierce of Bridgeton and Jasmin McClough of Bridgeton; five brothers, Donald Pierce of Atlantic City, Zach Douglas of Millville, Dennis Stevenson of South Carolina, Jerron Watson of Millville and Ron Watson of Millville; four sisters, Jennifer Foreman of Bridgeton, Lois Pierce of Bridgeton, Latasha Stevenson of PA and Chinita Watson of Millville, five grandchildren, Ronald Dooley, III, Ron'Azia Dooley, Semaj Smith, Ronvel Dooley and Samya Smith.

Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, July 7th at 11 AM.
