Obituary of Barbara M. Benton

Barbara M. Benton, 91, of Hopewell Twp. passed away on Saturday, June 17, at Eagleview Nursing Center in Pittsgrove Twp.

            Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Alta Harvey and was a life long resident of the Bridgeton area.

            Barbara leaves behind; her husband, Robert; two children, Bruce Benton and his wife, Brenda and Arline Gray and her husband, David; six grandchildren, Jennifer Benton, Andrea Levick and her husband, Chris, Lisa Schuck and her husband, Steve; four step-grandchildren, Richard Leyman his wife, Jami, Kenneth Leyman and his wife, Kristy, Christopher Gooden and Kim Cacciamani and her husband, Aldo and 12 great-grandchildren.

            Barbara was the devoted wife of Robert I. Benton whom she married on March 8, 1946 and they spent 71 wonderful years together. She enjoyed her winter home in Fort Myers, Florida, playing golf and was a member of many pinocle card clubs throughout the years.

            Cremation and inurnment took place at Laurel Lawn Crematory. Entombment will be made at Overlook Mausoleum in Bridgeton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of ones choice.
