Obituary of Cheryl Lynn James-Hobbs

Cheryl Lynn “Banana” James-Hobbs, 59, of Vineland died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland.

Born in Bridgeton to the late Wanamaker James and Sarah Harris James, she was the wife of the late Jerome Hobbs. Cheryl had been a resident of Vineland for the past 20 years and before that had been a long time resident of Newark and Bridgeton.

Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a teachers aide for the Vineland Board of Education for 11 years. Before that Cheryl had worked at Foster Forbes Glass Co. in Millville, Valley Fair in Newark as a store detective and Taco Bell in Vineland as assistant manager. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, visiting her family in North Jersey and watching Court TV, Maury and Jerry Springer.

She is survived by; a son, LeaQuan James, Sr. and his wife, Danielle of Vineland; six grandchildren, Laquana James, Aaron Kelly, Cherelle James, LeaQuan James, Jr, Jasmine James and Tariq James; a sister, Brenda James of East Orange; a brother, Charles James of Vineland; a niece Sarita Prout of Washington Twp.; two nephews, Christopher Sams and Aaron Lamb and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and other family members, Besides her husband, Jerome, she was preceded in death by; a sister, Donna Lamb; three brothers, Larry James, Mark James and Christopher James and the father of her son, John Darnell Grey.

Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, June 27th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.
