Obituary of Lauddie Pickett

Lauddie Pickett, 72, of Upper Deerfield Twp. died on Friday, June 9, 2017 following an extended illness.

            Born in Tuscaloosa, AL to the late Luzell Pickett and Sarah Brooks Pickett, he was the husband of Diane Burrus. Lauddie had moved with his family to the Bridgeton area where he was a resident most of his life. He had also lived briefly in California, Minnesota and Oregon.

            Prior to his retirement, he had worked as shop steward at B&B Poultry for 30 years. Lauddie had been previously employed at Price Brothers Lithograph in Bridgeton. He was a member of Church of Deliverance in Millville since 1992. In his free time he enjoyed fishing.

            In addition to his wife Diane, he is survived by eight children, Kevin Pickett, CA, Andrea Brown of Bridgeton, Daphne Pickett-Thomas of Bridgeton, Dagmar Pickett-Robinson of Vineland, Jermaine Brown of Millville, Sarah Brown of Upper Deerfield Twp., Jeremy Pickett of Bridgeton, Glen Pickett of Millville and Danielle Burrus of Upper Deerfield Twp.; a sister, Vera Coles, two brothers, Edward Brooks and Glen Brooks; 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria Pickett; a great-grandson, Zabari Pickett-Tull; a granddaughter, Princess Brown; a sister Frannie Taylor; and two brothers, Morris Brooks and Franklin Pickett.

            Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, June 24th at 11 AM. Interment will be held at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
