Lottie Dawson, 91, of Cedarville passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at Genesis Millville center following a brief illness. Born in Munnerlyn, GA on February 19, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Coleman and Millie Wright Coleman and was the wife of the late John Henry Dawson. She had been a resident of Lawrence Township since 1941. Before that she had lived in Waynesboro, GA. She had been employed by B&B Poultry in Norman for about 8 years, PJ Ritters in Bridgeton and Seabrook Farms in Upper Deerfield Township for a few years. At an early age, Lottie became a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Waynesboro, GA. When she relocated to New Jersey she became a member the Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton in 1943. She them moved her membership to Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Bridgeton in 1951. At Mount Calvary she has served as Mother of the Church, past president of the Senior Usher Board, Secretary of the Senior Choir, and head mother of the Mother Board. She was also a member of the Lowe Valley Chapter of the order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed fishing, watching the Phillies and Eagles, singing and playing the harmonica. She is survived by; her children, Joe Coleman and wife Patricia of Willingsboro, Roosevelt Evans, Jr. of Cedarville, Various Powe of Passaic, and Shirley Boyd Johnson and husband Rev. William Johnson of Millville; 16 grandchildren; four of which she raised, Glenda Powell of Cedarville, John Powell of Millville, Mildred Hunter of Bridgeton and Roberta Copeland of Bridgeton; 49 great-grandchildren; one of which she raised, Shelton Powell of Vineland; 45 great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by; her husband, John Henry Dawson and 13 siblings. Funeral Services will be held at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 737 Buckshutem Rd., Bridgeton, on Friday, May 11, at 12 Noon. A viewing will be held at the church from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services. Interment will take place at the Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Township following the services.
