Obituary of Archibald V. Tomlinson

Archibald V. Tomlinson, Sr., 78, of Bridgeton died on Thursday evening, May 18, 2017 at his home under the care of hospice.

            Born West Moreland, Jamaica to the late Edwin Tomlinson and Mabel Brown Tomlinson, he was the husband of Carrie Collier Tomlinson. Archibald had moved to Bridgeton for work in 1979 and prior to that he had been a resident of Florida.

            Before his retirement, he had worked at Sunny Slope Farms in Bridgeton. Archibald had been a member of Bethlehem Revival Temple in Bridgeton. In his free time, he enjoyed playing dominoes and was an avid fan of pro-wrestling and boxing.

            In addition to his wife Carrie, he is survived by a son, Archibald Tomlinson, Jr. of Bridgeton; four step-children, Lee Johnson of Phoenix, AZ, Jack Johnson of DE, Curtis Johnson of Jacksonville, FL and Tina Johnson of Bridgeton; a sister, Nala Tomlinson of Brooklyn, NY; a brother, Vincent Tomlinson of Brooklyn, NY and 18 grandchildren. Archibald was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters.

            Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Revival Temple, 37 South Ave., Bridgeton on Friday, May 26th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
