Obituary of Benjamin A. Pierce

            Benjamin A. Pierce, 63, of Quinton Twp. died on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

            Born in Fairfield Twp. to the late Morris Pierce and Anna Miller Pierce, he was the husband of Lisa Diaz-Marquez Pierce. Ben was a resident of Quinton Twp. for the past six years and prior to that he had lived in Bridgeton and Gouldtown.

            He had worked in construction for the Iron Workers Union in New York City. Following his Union employment,  he had owned and operated his own towing company “Native Towing” in the area. He was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Indians of New Jersey.

            In addition to his wife Lisa, he is survived by his daughter, Joan Anderson and her husband, Darren of Quinton Twp.; his son, Ben A. Pierce, Jr. and his wife, Margie of Fairton, nine brothers and sisters and six grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

            A gathering of family and friends will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Sunday, May 28th from 1 PM to 2 PM. Written condolences can be sent to the family through the funeral home website at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com .
