Obituary of Jessie Mae Cummings

            Jessie Mae Cummings, 81, of Bridgeton died on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at her home following and extended illness.

            Born in Perkins, GA to the late Pat McGriff and Eva Mae Lovett McGriff, she was the wife of the late Robert Lee Cummings. Jessie was a resident of the Bridgeton area since moving here when she was 17 years old.

            Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Four Star Chicken in Bridgeton and had also been employed by Val Mode Lingerie in Bridgeton and Anchor Hocking Glass Co. in Salem. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and friends, cooking, playing the lottery, card games and shopping. She often attended St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church in Bridgeton.

            She is survived by a daughter, Joann Mosley-Cummings of Florence, SC; a grandson, John Berry, Jr. and his wife, Devyn of Fairfield Twp.; and three great-grandchildren, Shatiera Smith of Millville, John Berry, III and Jordan Berry of Fairfield Twp. Besides her husband, Robert she was preceded in death by a brother, Willie McGriff.

            Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, May 22nd at 11 AM.
